“GenArts Sapphire AE CE” for my has always worked in Win 10, Premiere, MEncoder and AE

Premiere is looking for the files from

C:\Program Files\Genarts\SapphireAE\

Go to

C: Program Files (86x)\Genarts\SapphireAE\

and copy the contents to

C:\Program Files\Genarts\SapphireAE\

It looks like this is the 32bit version, not the 64bit version. I could be wrong, who cares. This little work around fixes the issue.

NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAC 27/Jun/2016

I put this instructions together which should help new users to install without any issues:

1. Install Sapphire for your host app of choice by using the individual installers.

2. When prompted, choose ‘Complete installation without entering a license’.

3. Go to /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ and delete all files ending in ‘demo_XX.lic’ (for example: rlm_demo_ae.lic).

4. Double click the GenArtsRLMServer-11.2.2.0.dmg and run the installer.

5. Copy/paste all 4 files from the AMPED folder to /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ (it will replace the original files).

6. Copy/paste the file com.genarts.rlmserver.plist from /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/startup_files/ to /Library/LaunchDaemons/

7. Get your hostname and hostID in your System Preferences and write them down somewhere:
a) for Hostname go to sharing tab. Use your computer name and add ‘.local’ to it.
(for example, if your computer name is ‘john denver’ it should be john-denver.local. Note: Replace spaces with a hyphen)
b) for HostID go to network tab, click ‘Advanced…’, then ‘Hardware’ and copy the MAC address
(for example: 1c:4g:e3:cf:17:2b). Then delete the dots (should be: 1c4ge3cf172b)

8. Go back to /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ and open the file genarts.lic with TextEdit.app (Open With/Other…’).
In the first line change ‘localhost’ to your Hostname and ‘ANY’ to your HostID.
(It should now say something like: HOST john-denver.local 1c4ge3cf172b 5053)
Save and close the file.

9. Open all other .lic files in /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ (example: SapphireAE.lic) and paste the following text (replace again your Hostname and ID with your own):
# This file should contain RLM licenses for GenArts products.

10. Open Terminal (/Applications/utilities/terminal.app) and write:
cd /Library/Application\ Support/GenArts/rlm
and press enter key

mkdir .reprise
and press enter key

cd .reprise
and press enter key

then write:
mkdir genarts
and press enter key

Close Terminal.

11. Open http://localhost:5054/home.asp in your browser of choice. It should open the Reprise License Server Administration.
Go to the ‘Shutdown’ tab and click on ‘SHUT DOWN SERVER’
Then go to the ‘Reread/Restart Servers’ tab and click on ‘REREAD/RESTART’
Then go to the ‘Status’ tab. Under ‘license files’ it should list now genarts.lic and all your other host app.lics.

12. Start one of your host applications (like After Effects, Nuke or Smoke) and apply one of the plug-ins.
It should now say ‘Licensed’ in the ‘about’ tab.

Block All Connections with Little Snitch or similar software!!!

This tutorial works for Sapphire 9.0, 9.0.1 & 9.0.2. Tested on El Capitan 10.11.3

1. Install Sapphire for your host app of choice by using the individual installers.

3. Downloaded upterror’s rlm folder

Confirm to replace the folder if you already have one (No need to install GenArtsRLMServer-11.2.2.0.dmg if you have it)

4. Go to /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ and delete all files ending in ‘demo_XX.lic’ (for example: rlm_demo_ae.lic).

5. Copy/paste the file com.genarts.rlmserver.plist from /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/startup_files/ to /Library/LaunchDaemons/

6. Get your hostname and hostID in your System Preferences and write them down somewhere:

Replace the XXXXXXXX with Your HOSTname and HOSTID (It should now say something like: HOST john-denver.local 1c4ge3cf172b 49236)

(Port 5053 in other tutorials was in use for me and wasn’t working, so Port 49236 got the server running)

Select all, Copy, Save and close the file.

8. Open all other .lic files in /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm/ (example: SapphireAE.lic) and paste your copied text.

Then save and close the files.

9. Open Terminal (/Applications/utilities/terminal.app) and write:

cd /Library/Application\ Support/GenArts/rlm
and press enter key

then write:
mkdir .reprise
and press enter key

then write:
cd .reprise
and press enter key

then write:
mkdir genarts
and press enter key

Then

sudo chmod 600 /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.genarts.rlmserver.plist
sudo chown root /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.genarts.rlmserver.plist

Close Terminal.
Reboot your machine

10. Open safari, Write:

localhost:5054

(might have to wait a min or two but keep refreshing).
It should open the Reprise License Server Administration.
Go to the ‘Shutdown’ tab and click on ‘SHUT DOWN SERVER’
Then go to the ‘Reread/Restart Servers’ tab and click on ‘REREAD/RESTART’
Then go to the ‘Status’ tab. Under ‘license files’ it should list now genarts.lic and all your other host app.lics.

FOR WINDOWS:

This is the OFX for Vegas install method on Win 7 64. The others must be very similar. Hope this clears a lot of fog up about this app.

You might not have to do any of this if the server is already installed and patched from earlier. Only do it if you get watermarks or other signs of trial.

1. Install RLM server 11.2.2.0 before installing. Free from Genarts.
2. Install Sapphire OFX for Vegas.
Choose install without licence at the end.
3. Check if RLM in services is stopped. If running, stop it.
4. Copy the 4 files in the AMPED folder:
rlmutil.exe
genarts.lic
genarts.set
rlm.exe
TO.
C:\Program Files (x86)\GenArts\rlm

Then copy genarts.lic file only TO.
C:\ProgramData\GenArts\rlm

Restart the RLM service in services. All done.

1- run the provided RLM.exe server in Cracked folder

2- Install sapphire-ae-install-9.02.exe

3- after installation success, choose (rlm licensing option) than open “genarts.lic” with _text editor_ and paste it in (rlm licensing option) from sapphire setup window *or if you choose continue without license and exit setup you must do 1&2 instead of 3 … copy “genarts.lic” in C:\ProgramData\GenArts\rlm and remove rlm_demo_ae.lic !!!Note: every time you want use program(sony-ae-avid) must run rlm.exe to active lisence so it’s better for you to copy Crack folder in your system. these steps are for both vegas and media composer not ae only.

    I followed the whole OSX Installation on two computers, and on both it doesn’t work.
    Its well explained and I really did all the steps. At the end in the Reprise License Server Administration I have under ‘license files’ all the genarts.lic etc. So it should work.
    But when using the plugins its Error: no license for product found.
    And then it gaves me a list rlm folder .lic files.
    Anyone could make it work in osx?

    I’m on a mac and I followed the instructions. I cracked it but now everytime I apply a sapphire effect it crashes AE or Premiere (cc 2015 newest update). Anyone else having this issue?

      I’ve been having this issue. I managed to crack this but after like 1 day it ended up not working.
      First, tell me your OS and I can tell you if it works on that one or not.
      Second, make sure you have the rim server’s I provided for you on the comment above (by me :) lel)
      Make sure. JUST MAKE SURE you got little snitch, if you want a cracked version than you can reply again

        Have tried this twice and no joy – the server shows my licences on there, but the plugin still has the watermark in Avid. I’m on Avid 7.0.4, OSX 10.9.5. Also Little Snitch – what do i need to do for Sapphire ?

      Have you guys changed the port to 42936?

      Find this section and do exactly the same:

      “Replace the XXXXXXXX with Your HOSTname and HOSTID (It should now say something like: HOST john-denver.local 1c4ge3cf172b 49236)

      Once you change the port to 49236, it will work with localhost:5054. Optionally you can use the Open RLM Web Interface.url file to get access to the server interface.

      However, it is not working on AVID 8 OS X. Followed the instructions step by step, but ended up with a huge watermark (an enormous X when I tried to apply an effect, even in the standalone effect editor app).

      It is interesting that there is no lic file for AVID in RLM folder. There are files for AE and OFX (like SapphireAE.lix), but nothing for AVID. Maybe AVID works differently, but I am still wondering if it could be the explanation for the watermark issue in MC8.

      i am not the one who used it. the cracking team used it dont blame me. every thing is scanned and works fine but this fucking program isnt working for every one.

    I found a solution how to install it for AVID on a MAC!!! FISRT: TURN OFF the Internet on your machine before installing (disable WiFi or unplug the Ethernet cable); The key is to follow the instructions on the very top of this page, but you HAVE TO INSTALL the RLM Server FIRST! – I used an older version 8.0 – the file name is GenArtsRLMServer-8.0.3.2.dmg; here’s the link to download: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qCfAVz1pdd-7hg4CTNxq3P-1Fa4dGiFG
    then you do step #11, stop the server thru Safari and DO NOT START IT BACK ON, until you go thru the whole list of steps from the beginning to end! Install the actual SapphireAVXInstall-9.02.dmg program before step# 9 (and DO NOT DO STEP# 6 – no need for that, because GenArtsRLMServer-8.0.3.2 doesn’t create that file at all), and only in the end TURN the SERVER SERVICE BACK ON (Step 11)! In the end RESTART THE COMPUTER and START THE SERVICE WITHOUT THE INTERNET ON FOR THE RIRST TIME! Then turn it back on later and Choose “Do not remind me” if the update comes up! Here are the new steps:

QUIT AVID and only THEN TURN YOUR INTERNET BACK ON! NEXT, TRY running AVID with the Internet ON and see if the plugins still work! Choose “Do not remind me” if the Sapphire update comes up!
