IMPORTANT: Please, check “Enable Javasciprt Debugger” checkbox in Preferences – General. Somehow this checkbox solves most of the problems, we are still investigating.

Good to know:

We are using optimized algorithms, so you are going to get a great image most of the time.

This also means that for movie clips you may get less than ideal results with v1.1.

v1.1 is made with motion graphics in mind, so we experimented with hundreds of motion graphics shots, and optimized algorithms for them.

We put a lot of effort to make this a true One-Click tool and hope you will love it as much as we do already.

Requirements :

Windows 7 systems will require this update.

Windows 8 / 8.1 and 10 do not need this update.

We tested on MacOS 10.8 to 10.11, no troubles detected.

2018 INSTRUCTIONS:

So I ran into a few troubles at first because some of the instructions were confusing. Here’s my take on the installation process.

1. Download the necessary files for the installation:
– Installer Files (86mb)
– Modified gifGun.jsxbin (621kb)
– AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin (22kb)

Or if you’re feeling lazy to find all of that from the links above, I’ve reuploaded them in this link: https://openload.co/f/KOm24247Uio/gifGun.zip

2. Unzip the installer file (it comes in a .zip file with installers for both MacOS and Windows) and install for your required OS. It should automatically find your current AE scripts folder.

3. Once the installation is finished, copy and paste the modified gifGun.jsxbin and AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin to your ScriptUI Panels folder (if you’re on windows, the address would be: “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels”)

NOTE: IT WILL REPLACE THE UNMODIFIED GIFGUN.JSXBIN WHICH CAME WITH THE INSTALLER FROM STEP TWO, JUST CLICK REPLACE WHEN PROMPTED.

4. Open your Adobe After Effects and go to your “Windows” menu, from the dropdown you should see AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin, click it and a window will pop up.

5. Once that window is up, from the menu in the panel search for gifGun.

6. DO NOT CLICK RUN YET!

7. Click the find button and look for your gifGun.jsxbin from your ScriptUI Panel.

8. Copy the trial code that is in the bottom of that panel.

9. Now, you may click run.

10. Restart your after effects for good measure.

11. Once AE is open, you can now locate gifGun.jsxbin from your windows panel.

12. PROFIT!

    I had a problem. I put the script on paste Script UI and when I try to use, I received the message “Copy (gifGun) folder to script location”. So started the render, but at last I didn’t have the gif. What I have to do?

    the Steps I did :
    – Install the Program file
    – copy the .jxsbin file and Paste it in ScriptUI folder
    – Replace the old .jxsbin file
    – Open the Program
    and Got Nothing Still asking for the License :'(

      Install gifgun, run once and close when asked to enter SN..run AEScriptsLIC_v1_08 , choose gifgun from drop down list, point to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels\gifGun.jsxbin
      copy SN from monter4 script, uncheck the SN and click run…open gifgun and paste copied SN…that is all

    Ok the author of this thread is a genius !! I have AE cc 2017 and it fucking works !
    But seriousely (sorry for bad english i’m french) the steps are not clearely explained..
    So here’s what I did : You have to download the 3 files (gifgun installer “Gifgun 1.6”, the rar file named “gifgun” who contains the modified original script and finally the file called “AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin” who is the plugin who gives you the activation code.
    1-install gifgun with the installer (i’m on windows 10 sorry for guys on mac) to the path of adobe after effects (for me it’s C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels)
    2- open AE and go to windows it’s at the bottom it’s called “gifGun.jsxbin” (not modified yet) it ‘ll ask for activation key. Close everything click cancel and get out !
    3- Paste “AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin” file to “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels” and paste “gifGun.jsxbin” (modified this time) in the same path. Click replace ! the original becomes modified.
    4- go to AE, open AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin in “window /that name”, in the first list select gifgun, in the “file script” locate the modified gifGun.jsxbin that should be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels. uncheck at the left the key (before copy that key !) and RUN THE PROGRAM !
    Last step ! open in ae the gifgun plugin opened at the beginning (window/gifGun.jsxbin) and paste the code !
    DONE !

    Install worked, only it crashes during the render. AE freezed and then I’ve still nothing. (AE CC2015). Someone have the same problem and fixed it?

    Hi Guys just wanted to make the installation steps a bit more clearer as it worked for me on W10 After Effects CC 2017

    1 – Download the 3 files
    i) gifgun installer “Gifgun 1.6”
    ii) rar file named “gifgun” who contains the modified original script
    iii) finally the file called “AEScriptsLIC_v1_08_m.jsxbin” which gives the plugin the activation code.

    2 – Install gifgun with the installer (i’m on windows 10 sorry for guys on mac) to the path of adobe after effects (for me it’s C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels)

    ii) In the AEScriptsLIC_v1_08 window, select “gifgun” from the AEScripts droplist (note: scroll bar is at right side)
    iii) Once selected, browse for “File Script” by locating the modified gifGun.jsxbin that should be in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels.
    iv) Uncheck the box next to the current trial serial key (Note: copy the serial key before unchecking box!)

    6 – RUN THE PROGRAM !
    i) Open in AE the “gifgun” plugin as in step 3
    ii) Now paste the code that was copied in step “5 – iv” above

    DONE and now ENJOY

    So i have a problem, when i run AEScriptsLic under the windows dropdown menu it says that it has expired, so practically i can’t get the gifgun code. Is there any new version of AEScriptsLIC?
